Why do my floors squeak, and will new flooring fix it?
A squeak is almost always subfloor decking moving against a joist, or a fastener that has backed out. New flooring laid on top does not fix it. We refasten the decking while it is exposed, which takes minutes at that stage and is impractical afterwards. If a quote does not mention it, the squeak you have now is the squeak you keep.
