Can I run one floor through the whole downstairs?
Usually yes, and it looks excellent. What makes it work is a properly held expansion gap at every wall and fixed object, and a subfloor flat enough across the entire run. We measure both before quoting rather than assuming, because a long run is exactly where small errors become visible.
I want wide plank hardwood. Solid or engineered?
Engineered, in almost every Jenks home. Wide boards move more across their width than narrow ones, and a wide solid board over a concrete slab in this climate will cup. Engineered gives you the same real wood surface on a cross ply core that stays flat.
Do you charge extra to come to Jenks?
No. Jenks is a few minutes from our base in Tulsa and there is no travel charge on the estimate or on the job.
How long does a whole downstairs take?
For plank, typically one to five days depending on square footage and how much prep the subfloor needs. Tile takes longer because mortar and grout need cure time between stages, and hardwood needs acclimation before install. You get a realistic timeline in the written quote rather than an optimistic one.
Will I see the seam where the floor meets the kitchen or bathroom?
Only if we put one there. On an open plan we usually run the same plank straight through and only break at genuinely wet rooms, where tile is the better floor. Where a break is needed, we put it under a door in the closed position so the change reads as deliberate rather than as a repair.
Do I need to move the furniture out of an open plan?
Not out of the house. We move it in stages, working one zone at a time so you keep somewhere to live while the job runs. Anything fragile or genuinely heavy, like a gun safe or a full aquarium, we ask you to arrange separately, and we say so at the estimate rather than on the morning.
